0B.X.01

Massey Ferguson 0B.X.01 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

Issue description

The control module is sending a signal to the solenoid that controls the mid-mount loader valve, but the electrical circuit is incomplete (open). This is typically caused by a broken wire, an unplugged connector, or a burnt-out solenoid coil (infinite resistance).

Applies to these machines

  • 5710SL
  • 5711SL
  • 5712SL
  • 5713SL
  • T4
  • 5608
  • 5609
  • 5610
  • 5611
  • 5612
  • 5613
  • 4700 Series
  • 5700SL Series
  • 7600 Series
  • 7700 Series

Check the cause

  1. Locate the mid-mount valve block and inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve solenoids for obvious physical damage, chafing, or disconnected plugs.

  2. Unplug the connector at the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, corrosion, or pushed-back pins.

  3. Using a multimeter, measure the resistance (ohms) across the two pins of the solenoid coil. If the multimeter reads OL (Open Loop) or infinite resistance, the internal coil is broken.

  4. If the solenoid tests within normal resistance specifications, test the wiring harness for continuity between the solenoid connector and the Mid Mount Valve Module to locate the break in the wire.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure & Disconnect Power

Lower the loader to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

  2. Access the Valve Block

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block.

  3. Remove the Faulty Solenoid Coil

Disconnect the electrical harness from the solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the solenoid stem and slide the electromagnetic coil off the valve spool cartridge.

  4. Install the New Coil

Slide the new solenoid coil over the valve stem and tighten the retaining nut.

  5. Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

If the diagnostic tests pointed to the harness rather than the coil, splice and heat-shrink the broken wire, or replace the mid-mount valve wiring harness section.

  6. Reconnect and Clear Codes

Reconnect the wiring harness and the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.X.01 code from the system. Test the loader joystick to ensure proper operation.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid / Front Loader Valve Block Solenoid Coil

When ordering, you must verify the inner diameter (e.g., 18mm hole) of the solenoid coil and the connector type (e.g., DIN connector) against the physical valve block on the machine.

  • Mid-Mount Valve Kit Assembly (Bosch Rexroth)

    R917007989

Often sold as a complete electronic mid-mount valve kit for AGCO/CNH tractors.

  • Mid-Mount Valve Wiring Harness

Replace if the open circuit is on the tractor side rather than the coil.
