Massey Ferguson 0B.X.06 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid High Amp Draw

The onboard diagnostic system has detected that the solenoid controlling the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is pulling more electrical current (amps) than the normal operating parameters allow. A sustained high amp draw typically indicates an internal short within the solenoid coil, a short to ground in the wiring harness, or a low battery voltage condition forcing the component to pull higher amperage.

   Check battery voltage to ensure it is fully charged, as low voltage can cause solenoids to draw excessive amperage to compensate.

   Measure the actual amp draw of the mid-mount valve solenoid using a multimeter and compare it against manufacturer specifications.

   Inspect the wiring loom running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve solenoid for chafing, melted insulation, or a short to ground.

   Disconnect the solenoid and test its internal resistance to check for an internal short causing the high amp draw.

   Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Locate the Mid Mount Electro Valve assembly.

   Locate the Mid Mount Electro Valve assembly (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis near the loader subframe).

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the faulty loader mid-mount solenoid.

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the faulty loader mid-mount solenoid.

   Repair or replace the affected section of the loom if the wiring harness is damaged or shorted to ground.

   If the wiring harness is damaged or shorted to ground, repair or replace the affected section of the loom.

   Unbolt/unscrew the solenoid cartridge from the hydraulic distributor valve block if the solenoid itself is internally shorted.

   If the solenoid itself is internally shorted, unbolt/unscrew the solenoid cartridge from the hydraulic distributor valve block.

   Install the replacement solenoid.

   Install the replacement solenoid, ensuring any O-rings or sealing washers are properly seated.

   Reconnect the electrical harness, reconnect the battery, and clear the DTCs.

   Reconnect the electrical harness, reconnect the battery, and clear the DTCs using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool. Test loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
