Massey Ferguson 0B.X.09 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid High Amp Draw

The electrical current (amperage) being pulled by the solenoid coil on the mid-mount loader hydraulic valve is exceeding the expected normal operating range, typically caused by an internal short circuit within the solenoid coil itself or a short to ground in the wiring harness.

   Perform the 'Click Test' by toggling the loader control switch on and off to listen for a distinct metallic click or feel for vibration at the coil housing.

   Perform a Resistance Test (Ohms) by disconnecting the electrical connector and measuring resistance across the two power terminals of the solenoid coil to check for an internal short.

   Check the wiring harness leading back to the Mid Mount Valve Module for rubbed insulation or pinched wires causing a short to ground.

   Ensure the valve spool isn't physically jammed by contamination by pushing in on each side of the valve spool to ensure it moves freely.

   Safety First

   Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, and relieve all hydraulic pressure by moving the joystick/controls through all positions before disconnecting any components.

   Access the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro valve block (usually mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, below the cab).

   Disconnect Electrical

   Unplug the wiring harness connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or clip holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem and slide the old coil off the valve cartridge.

   Clean and Inspect

   Clean the valve stem thoroughly with solvent to remove dirt and debris.

   Install New Part

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip.

   Reconnect and Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness, start the tractor, clear the DTCs, and test the loader functions to ensure smooth operation.
