Massey Ferguson 0B.X.14 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the circuit for the loader's mid-mount valve solenoid is lower than the minimum expected threshold. A 'low amp draw' condition almost always points to high electrical resistance in the circuit, typically caused by a loose connection, corroded connector pins, a partially broken wire, or a failing/open solenoid coil.

   Visually inspect the mid-mount valve block wiring harness for chafing, pinch points, or broken wires.

   Disconnect the electrical connector at the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or green corrosion on the pins. Ensure the pins are tight and making good contact.

   Using a digital multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two terminals of the solenoid coil. If the reading is 'OL' (Open Loop/Infinite) or unusually high compared to adjacent solenoids, the internal coil is broken.

   With the key on, probe the harness side of the connector and actuate the loader joystick in the cab to verify that the module is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental short circuits.

   Clean the Area

   Wipe down the mid-mount valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system, even though you are only replacing the electrical coil.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or snap-ring at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

   Swap the Coil

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge stem. Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge itself, just the electromagnetic coil).

   Secure and Reconnect

   Reinstall the retaining nut/clip. Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and locks securely.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery. Start the tractor, operate the loader joystick to verify function, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.X.14 inactive fault code from the Mid Mount Valve Module.
