Issue description
The controller has detected a voltage signal from the vent (outlet) temperature sensor that is below the acceptable minimum threshold, indicating the sensor's internal thermistor has failed (shorted) or the wiring harness connecting the sensor to the module is shorted to ground.

Check the cause
Sensor Disconnect Test: Disconnect the vent temperature sensor. Turn the key on and check the active fault codes. If the code changes from a 'Short Circuit' (10.00.02) to an 'Open Circuit' (10.00.01), the wiring is intact, and the sensor itself is internally shorted and must be replaced.
Wiring Harness Inspection: If the code remains 10.00.02 after unplugging the sensor, use a multimeter to test the signal wire between the sensor connector and the AIRCON module for a short to ground.
Connector Check: Inspect the sensor pigtail and the main harness connector for melted plastic, water ingress, or bent pins that could be bridging the signal and ground circuits.
Module Voltage: Verify that the AIRCON module is sending the correct 5V reference signal to the sensor connector.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.
Locate the Sensor
Access the HVAC unit. On most Massey Ferguson tractors, the HVAC plenum is located in the cab roof (requiring removal of the inner roof liner/headliner) or under the rear cab trim, depending on the specific model. The vent temperature sensor is inserted directly into the main air distribution duct.
Remove the Sensor
Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor. The sensor is typically secured by a simple twist-lock mechanism or a single retaining screw. Carefully pull the probe out of the evaporator/vent duct.
Install the New Part
Insert the new temperature sensor probe into the duct and secure it.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical harness. Reinstall any cab trim or headliner panels that were removed to access the HVAC unit.
Clear Codes and Test
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use the tractor's onboard diagnostic screen or the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the inactive 10.00.02 code. Run the tractor and engage the A/C to verify that the system regulates the vent temperature properly without throwing a new code.
