10.00.06

Massey Ferguson 10.00.06 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Short Circuit (AIRCON)

Issue description

The voltage signal from the cab temperature sensor has dropped below the expected operating range, typically caused by a short to ground within the sensor itself or its wiring harness.

Check the cause

  1. Locate the inside cab temperature sensor, typically mounted in the top right side of the interior fuse panel or near the roof/blower unit.

  2. Inspect the sensor's electrical connector for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture intrusion.

  3. Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to check the wiring harness between the AIRCON module and the sensor connector for a short to ground.

  4. Measure the resistance across the pins of the cab temperature sensor. A reading of near 0 ohms confirms an internal short circuit, meaning the sensor has failed and must be replaced.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical damage.

  2. Access the Sensor

Remove the interior trim panels necessary to access the top right side of the fuse panel or the roof console where the sensor is mounted.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty cab temperature sensor.

  4. Remove

Remove the mounting screws or retaining clips holding the sensor in place and extract the unit.

  5. Install

Insert the new cab temperature sensor and secure it with the mounting hardware.

  6. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

  7. Reassemble

Reinstall any interior trim panels that were removed.

  8. Test

Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 10.00.06 fault code. Start the tractor and test the A/C system to ensure the cab temperature regulates correctly without throwing a new code.
