Massey Ferguson 10.00.07 – AIRCON: Air Conditioning Outside Temperature Sensor Open Circuit

The controller has detected an "open circuit" in the outside (ambient) temperature sensor circuit. This means there is a break in the electrical path—most commonly caused by a disconnected plug, a severed wire, corroded terminals, or a sensor that has failed internally and has infinite resistance.

   Visually inspect the outside ambient temperature sensor (mounted in front of the radiator/grille area or under the cab roof overhang) to see if it is physically unplugged or damaged.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the sensor for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage.

   Disconnect the sensor and inspect the 2-pin oval connector for water ingress, bent pins, or heavy corrosion.

   Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the sensor itself. If it reads 'OL' (Open Loop) or infinite resistance, the sensor is internally broken.

   Turn the ignition ON and measure the harness side of the connector for a 5V reference signal from the AIRCON module. If voltage is missing, the wiring harness or module is at fault.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and remove the key.

   Locate the Sensor

   Find the ambient temperature sensor on the exterior of the cab or front grille assembly.

   Disconnect

   Depress the locking tab on the 2-pin oval electrical connector and pull it away from the sensor.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If a broken wire was found during diagnostics, strip back the damaged section, solder or use a weatherproof butt-connector, and seal it with marine-grade heat shrink.

   Replace Sensor (If Applicable)

   If the sensor tested faulty, unclip or unbolt the old sensor from its mounting bracket. Snap the new OEM replacement sensor into place.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and locks securely.

7. 7

   Clear Codes

   Turn the ignition ON. The AIRCON module should recognize the restored circuit. The code 10.00.07 should change from "Active" to "Inactive/Stored" and can be cleared using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's dash menu.
