Massey Ferguson 10.00.15 – AIRCON: Air Vent Circulation Flap Position Sensor Supply Voltage Issue

The tractor's climate control system uses a motorized flap to regulate the mixture of fresh outside air and recirculated cabin air. This flap is driven by an actuator that contains an internal position sensor (potentiometer) so the system knows the exact physical position of the door. This fault code is triggered when the control module detects that the electrical supply voltage going to this position sensor is outside of its expected operating parameters (which typically indicates an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to power).

   Check for accompanying codes on the dash, such as 10.00.20, which indicates the motor itself has failed alongside the sensor.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the AIRCON module to the HVAC unit for chafing, rodent damage, or pinched wires.

   Disconnect the plug at the circulation flap actuator and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-back terminals.

   Turn the tractor key to the ON position and measure the supply voltage at the sensor connector to ensure the AIRCON module is sending the correct 5V reference voltage.

   Test the continuity of the wiring between the actuator connector and the AIRCON module to rule out a broken wire.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the HVAC Unit

   Depending on your specific tractor model, the HVAC assembly is usually located in the cab roof canopy. Remove the necessary interior roof trim panels, louvers, and air filters to expose the blower and flap actuators.

   Locate the Actuator

   Identify the air vent circulation flap actuator (the small electric motor attached to the fresh/recirculate door linkage).

   Remove the Faulty Unit

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the actuator. Remove the mounting screws securing the actuator to the HVAC housing and carefully detach it from the flap linkage.

   Install the New Actuator

   Align the new actuator with the flap linkage. Secure it with the mounting screws and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall all cab trim panels and the roof canopy.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or the tractor's dashboard diagnostic menu to clear the 10.00.15 fault code. Test the HVAC system by toggling the recirculation button to ensure the flap moves smoothly and the code does not return.
