Massey Ferguson 10.00.20 – Air Conditioning Panel Module (AIRCON): Issue With Air Circulation Flap Motors (AIRCON)

The electronic climate control system has detected a malfunction in the actuator motors responsible for moving the HVAC blend doors or recirculation flaps. This underlying condition is typically caused by a burnt-out actuator motor, a physically jammed flap causing increased electrical resistance, or a wiring/communication error (such as a CAN bus timeout or short circuit) preventing the motor from operating.

   Check the cab pressurisation filter and the recirculation filter. A severely blocked filter can cause the system to strain or the recirculation flap actuator to overheat and fail.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the AC module and the flap motors. Look for disconnected cables, broken wires, or short circuits.

   Access the HVAC box and manually check the air flaps/blend doors. Ensure they move freely and are not physically jammed by debris or broken plastic hinges, which would cause the motor to over-amp and throw a fault.

   Test the actuator motor for undervoltage or increased internal resistance to confirm if the motor itself is dead.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the CAN bus/HVAC system.

   Access the HVAC Unit

   Remove the cab roof hatch or interior headliner panels to expose the air conditioning and heating assembly.

   Locate the Actuator

   Identify the faulty air circulation flap motor mounted on the exterior of the HVAC distribution box.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the flap motor.

   Removal

   Remove the retaining screws holding the actuator motor to the HVAC housing. Carefully pull the motor away, noting the orientation of the linkage or spline that connects to the flap door.

   Installation

   Align the new flap motor with the blend door linkage. Press it into place and secure it with the retaining screws.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new motor. Reinstall the cab roof panels or headliner.

   Calibration/Clearing

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on, clear the 10.00.20 fault code from the Air Conditioning Panel Module, and test the climate control dials to ensure the flaps actuate properly without binding.
