Massey Ferguson 10.01.05 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Open Circuit (AIRCON)

The HVAC system has detected an open circuit in the interior cab temperature sensor loop, which typically means there is a broken wire, a disconnected plug, or the internal thermistor of the sensor has completely failed and is providing infinite resistance.

   Locate the inside cab temperature sensor (usually mounted in the cab roof, near the recirculation filter, or top right side of the fuse panel)

   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector leading to the sensor for severed wires, rodent damage, or a loose/disconnected plug

   Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to measure its resistance (Ohms). If the multimeter reads 'OL' (open loop) or infinite resistance, the sensor is dead

   Check the continuity of the wiring harness between the sensor connector and the AIRCON control module to isolate a broken wire if the sensor tests normal

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery isolator switch to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the necessary interior cab trim panels, headliner section, or fuse panel cover to access the cab temperature sensor.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty sensor.

   Remove and Replace

   Unclip or unscrew the faulty sensor from its mounting bracket and install the new OEM replacement part.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the wiring harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place. Reinstall all cab trim panels.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition. Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the logged 10.01.05 fault code. (On some models, the code will move from 'Active' to 'Stored' automatically once the circuit is restored).

   System Test

   Run the tractor and engage the automatic climate control to verify that the A/C system regulates the cab temperature properly without throwing the code again.
