Massey Ferguson 10.01.06 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning / Climate Control) Module: Cab Temperature Sensor Short Circuit (AIRCON)

This fault code indicates that the electrical circuit for the cab's internal temperature sensor has shorted. A short circuit typically means the signal wire is making direct contact with a ground or power source, or the sensor itself has failed internally, resulting in an abnormally low resistance reading. This prevents the climate control system from accurately reading the cabin temperature, which can cause the automatic air conditioning to malfunction or default to a preset temperature.

   Use the tractor's display panel or the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to verify if the code is currently active or stored.

   Locate the inside cab temperature sensor (typically mounted in the cab headliner, near the recirculation air intake, or on the top right side of the fuse panel).

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the cab temperature sensor for any pinched wires, melted insulation, or chafing that could cause a short to ground or short to voltage.

   Disconnect the sensor and measure the resistance across the sensor's terminals. A reading of near-zero ohms confirms the sensor is internally shorted.

   Check the harness side of the connector for proper reference voltage from the AIRCON module and ensure there is no continuity to ground on the signal wire when disconnected.

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery isolator to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the necessary interior cab trim panels or fuse panel covers to access the cab temperature sensor.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor. Inspect the connector pins for corrosion or bent terminals.

   Replace or Repair

   If the wiring harness is damaged and causing the short, repair the broken/shorted section of the wire and insulate it properly. If the sensor is internally shorted, unclip or unscrew the old sensor and install the new replacement part.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical plug and reinstall all cab trim panels.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, and use the dashboard diagnostic menu or AGCO EDT to clear the 10.01.06 fault code. Test the A/C system to ensure it regulates the cab temperature correctly.
