Massey Ferguson 10.01.17 – AIRCON: Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Fan Speed Dial (AIRCON)
Issue description
Internal electrical or mechanical failure within the Air Conditioning Panel Module, specifically isolated to the fan speed dial (blower control switch). The module is unable to read the correct position, resistance, or signal from the rotary dial that dictates the cab's blower motor speed.

Check the cause
Inspect the rotary fan speed dial for physical damage, looseness, or binding caused by dust, moisture, or vibration
Verify the condition of the blower motor resistor pack, as resistor failures can mimic switch failures or cause the switch to burn out
Remove the panel and inspect the wiring harness connectors at the back of the AC module for melted pins, corrosion, or loose connections
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the cab console.
Access the Module
Carefully remove the trim or bezel surrounding the AC control panel in the tractor cab.
Document Wiring
Before disconnecting anything, document or photograph exactly where each wire goes. Blower switches often utilize multiple wires for different speed settings, and mixing them up will cause the fan to operate incorrectly.
Remove the Panel/Switch
Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the AC control panel module. Depending on your specific panel design, you may be able to unscrew and replace just the heavy-duty rotary switch from the back of the board, or you may need to replace the entire panel assembly.
Reinstallation
Install the new switch or panel, reconnect the wiring harness according to your documentation, and secure the panel back into the console.
Test
Reconnect the battery and test the blower motor on all speed settings to ensure the fault is cleared.
