Massey Ferguson 10.01.19 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning / Climate Control) Module: Issue With The Heater Valve (AIRCON)

Stepper motor output error or electrical fault with the water valve that controls the flow of hot engine coolant into the cab's heater core. When this code is triggered, the valve may be stuck open (causing the cab to overheat and overriding the air conditioning) or stuck closed (preventing the cab from heating).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connections between the AIRCON module and the heater valve for chafed wires, corrosion in the connector pins, or a loose plug.

   Verify that the heater hoses have not been installed in reverse order during a previous service (reversed hoses expose the outlet side to excessive pressure, damaging the internal stepper motor).

   If equipped with a hybrid cable-actuated valve, check the cable adjustment to ensure the valve is capable of fully closing without mechanical binding.

   Use a multimeter to verify that the AIRCON module is sending the correct voltage signal to the valve when the cab temperature dial is adjusted.

   Preparation

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the heater control valve, which is typically spliced into the heater hoses in the engine bay near the firewall or under the cab floor.

   Clamp the Hoses

   Use hose pinch-off pliers to clamp the coolant hoses on both the inlet and outlet sides of the heater valve. This prevents excessive engine coolant loss.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the heater valve actuator.

   Removal

   Loosen the hose clamps securing the hoses to the valve and pull the hoses off. Remove the faulty valve.

   Installation

   Install the new heater valve, paying close attention to the directional flow arrow on the valve body to ensure it is not installed backward.

   Reassembly

   Push the hoses onto the new valve and tighten the hose clamps. Reconnect the electrical plug.

   Fluid Check & Testing

   Remove the hose pinch-off pliers. Reconnect the battery. Start the engine and turn the cab heater to maximum. Check the valve and hose connections for coolant leaks. Top up the engine coolant reservoir if any fluid was lost.

9. 9

   Clear Codes

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 10.01.19 fault code from the AIRCON module.
