Massey Ferguson 10.01.21 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning Module): Air Conditioning Compressor Relay Signal From AC Module Issue (AIRCON)

This indicates an electrical or communication fault where the Air Conditioning (AC) Module is either failing to send the activation signal to the AC compressor relay, or the signal is being lost in the circuit before it reaches the relay. Without this signal, the relay cannot close the circuit to provide power to the AC compressor clutch, resulting in the air conditioning system failing to blow cold air.

   Locate the AC compressor relay in the fuse/relay panel and swap it with a known good relay of the same type (e.g., a work light relay) to quickly rule out a simple mechanical relay failure

   Use a multi-meter to verify that the relay socket is receiving the command voltage from the AC module when the AC switch is turned on in the cab

   Inspect the wiring harness between the AC module and the compressor relay for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage

   If the relay is functioning, check for proper voltage at the AC compressor clutch coil (low voltage can cause the clutch to slip and burn out)

   Inspect all HVAC and AIRCON-related fuses in the main and secondary fuse boxes

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and engage the parking brake.

   Access the Relay Panel

   Open the main fuse/relay box (location varies by model, often on the right-hand console or B-pillar).

   Inspect the Relay and Socket

   Identify the AC compressor relay using the fuse panel diagram. Remove the relay and inspect the terminals for corrosion, melting, or arcing. Clean the socket contacts with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.

   Test/Replace the Relay

   If the relay is faulty or burnt, replace it with a new OEM relay.

   Trace the Circuit (If Relay is Good)

   If the relay is functional but the signal from the AC module is missing at the socket, trace the specific signal wire from the relay block back to the AC module.

   Repair Wiring

   Repair any broken or shorted wires using appropriate automotive wire and heat-shrink connectors. If the wiring is perfectly intact but the module outputs no signal, the AIRCON module itself may require replacement or reprogramming.

   Test the System

   Reinstall the relay and start the tractor. Turn the AC to maximum cooling. Listen for the AC compressor clutch to "click" and engage.

   Clear Codes

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the 10.01.21 fault code and verify it does not return.
