Check the cause
Perform a visual inspection to ensure the sunlight sensor (located on the center of the dashboard or cab roof) is completely clean and unobstructed.
Check for water damage or moisture ingress in the control panel or the sunlight sensor itself.
Inspect the wiring harness and connector for the sunlight sensor for an open circuit, short circuit to ground, or short circuit to the power supply.
Test the sunlight sensor's resistance and voltage output using a multimeter to verify if the sensor has failed internally.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Locate the sunlight sensor on the dashboard/cab interior.
Carefully pry up or remove the trim cover surrounding the sensor.
Disconnect the wiring connector (often labeled P15 or similar for the AC sunlight sensor).
Remove the mounting screws or unclip the sensor assembly from its mounting bracket.
Install the new sunlight sensor and securely reconnect the wiring harness.
Reinstall the dashboard cover/trim piece.
Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool, and test the automatic air conditioning function in direct sunlight to ensure the system compensates correctly.
