10.02.14

Massey Ferguson 10.02.14 – AIRCON: Air Vent Circulation Flap Position Sensor Voltage Issue (AIRCON)

Issue description

The controller is detecting an irregular voltage signal (such as an out-of-range voltage, short circuit, or open circuit) from the sensor responsible for monitoring the position of the HVAC air circulation flap (recirculation blend door).

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading from the AIRCON module to the circulation flap actuator for chafed wires, rodent damage, or pinched lines

  2. Disconnect the plug at the flap position sensor and check for bent pins, moisture, or corrosion

  3. Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage and ground from the AIRCON module

  4. Manually check the air circulation flap for physical obstructions, debris, or dust buildup that could stall the motor

  5. Clear the fault code to determine if it is a hard fault or an intermittent issue caused by a temporary voltage drop

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the HVAC Unit

Remove the necessary cab interior trim panels (often the roof liner or side console panels) to access the main HVAC housing.

  3. Locate the Actuator

Identify the air vent circulation flap actuator motor. The position sensor is typically integrated into this actuator assembly.

  4. Remove the Faulty Unit

Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor. Remove the mounting screws holding the actuator to the HVAC housing. Carefully detach the actuator arm from the flap linkage.

  5. Install the New Unit

Align the new actuator/sensor assembly with the flap linkage. Secure it with the mounting screws and reconnect the electrical harness.

  6. Reassembly and Calibration

Reinstall the cab trim panels and reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and operate the climate control system, cycling between fresh air and recirculation modes to allow the AIRCON module to learn the new sensor's end-stops.

  7. Clear Codes

Use a diagnostic tool to clear fault code 10.02.14 and verify it does not return.
