Massey Ferguson 10.02.16 – AIRCON: Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Temperature Dial

The system has detected an internal electrical failure, an out-of-range signal, or a short/open circuit specifically tied to the temperature control dial (potentiometer) located on the cab's climate control panel.

   Inspect the temperature dial on the AC control panel to see if the knob is physically broken, binding, or feels loose, indicating a mechanical failure of the potentiometer.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors at the back of the AIRCON module for loose pins, corrosion, or melted wires that could cause signal interruption.

   Verify that the Air Conditioning Module is receiving proper operating voltage and ground.

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) and monitor live data from the temperature dial. Slowly turn the dial from cold to hot and watch for smooth signal transitions to confirm if the internal potentiometer is faulty.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or CAN BUS spikes.

   Remove Trim

   Carefully pry off or unscrew the interior cab trim/bezel surrounding the HVAC control panel (location varies by cab; often on the right-hand console or headliner).

   Extract the Module

   Remove the retaining screws securing the Air Conditioning Panel Module to the console.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Pull the module forward and carefully unplug the electrical connectors from the rear of the unit.

   Install New Module

   Connect the wiring harnesses to the new AC control panel module.

   Reassembly

   Secure the new panel with the mounting screws and snap the cab trim back into place.

   Test and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on, use the AGCO EDT to clear the 10.02.16 fault code, and test the HVAC system to ensure the temperature dial now properly regulates the cab climate.
