   Determine if the valve is cable-operated or electronic. If it is cable-operated, check the cable adjustment to ensure the valve is fully opening and closing.

   Inspect the control cable for rust, binding, or seizing; applying penetrating oil down the cable can sometimes free it up.

   Verify that the heater hoses have not been installed in reverse order. If the hoses are reversed, the heater valve outlet side is exposed to pressure, which can internally damage the valve and necessitate a replacement.

   For electronic valves, check the wiring and connectors for damage, corrosion, or poor connections.

   Locate the heater valve.

   Depending on the tractor model, it is typically found near the air conditioning unit, which may require removing the top cab roof plate or accessing the firewall.

   Clamp off the heater hoses.

   Clamp off the heater hoses to prevent excessive engine coolant loss.

   Disconnect the valve.

   Disconnect the control cable or electrical connector from the valve.

   Remove the hoses.

   Loosen the hose clamps and remove the hoses from the faulty valve.

   Install the new valve.

   Remove the old valve and install the new one. Ensure the hoses are connected in the correct orientation (inlet to inlet, outlet to outlet) to prevent pressure damage to the new valve.

   Reconnect the valve.

   Reconnect the control cable or electrical connector.

   Bleed the system.

   Unclamp the hoses. Open the heater valve fully and run the engine (e.g., at 1000 rev/min for several minutes) to circulate the coolant and bleed air from the system.

   Check coolant level.

   Check the expansion tank and top up the engine coolant as necessary.

   Clear error codes.

   Clear the error codes from the diagnostic system via the diagnostic menu.
