10.02.33

Massey Ferguson 10.02.33 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning / Climate Control) Module: Air Vent Circulation Flap Position Sensor Voltage Issue

Issue description

This code indicates that the signal from the potentiometer inside the recirculation actuator is outside of its normal operating range or has a voltage irregularity. When this fault is triggered, the HVAC system typically defaults the recirculation actuator to the "external air" (fresh air) position as a fail-safe.

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the system has locked the air intake to the 'external air' position to confirm the module is actively reacting to the sensor fault.

  2. Inspect the machine's wiring harness leading to the HVAC unit for any physical damage, breaks, or pinched wires.

  3. Using a multi-meter, check the electrical connector at the recirculation actuator to ensure proper reference voltage is reaching the sensor and the ground circuit is intact.

  4. Check if the potentiometer reference is short-circuited to earth/ground. If wiring is intact and voltage is present but the signal remains out of range, the internal potentiometer has failed.

Repair steps

  1. Access the HVAC Unit

Depending on your specific tractor model, gain access to the HVAC assembly (this is typically located in the cab roof liner or under the rear/side console).

  2. Locate the Actuator

Identify the recirculation flap actuator (often referred to in manuals as "recirculation actuator no. 1" or "no. 2").

  3. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery isolator to prevent electrical shorts.

  4. Remove the Faulty Actuator

Disconnect the electrical harness from the actuator. Remove the mounting screws securing the actuator to the HVAC housing and carefully detach it from the flap linkage.

  5. Install the New Actuator

Align the new actuator with the flap linkage and secure it with the mounting screws.

  6. Reconnect and Reassemble

Plug the electrical connector back in and reassemble the cab panels/roof liner.

  7. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery. Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu to clear the 10.02.33 fault code.

  8. Test Operation

Turn on the HVAC system and toggle between fresh air and recirculation modes to ensure the flap moves smoothly without throwing a new code.
