Massey Ferguson 10.03.06 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Short Circuit (AIRCON)

The system has detected a short circuit in the wiring or the sensor itself, preventing the climate control system from accurately reading the interior cabin temperature.

   Locate the inside cab temperature sensor (often near the top right side of the fuse panel or integrated into the roof/headliner depending on the exact model).

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the cab temperature sensor to the AIRCON module for pinched wires, chafing, or melted insulation that could cause a short to ground or a short to voltage.

   Using a voltmeter/multimeter, disconnect the sensor and test the harness pins for continuity to ground.

   Measure the resistance across the terminals of the disconnected cab temperature sensor. If it reads near zero ohms (continuity), the sensor is internally shorted.

   Disconnect battery

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Repair wiring harness

   If the diagnostic tests revealed a short in the wiring harness, trace the wire back to the AIRCON module and repair the damaged section using appropriate splice connectors and heat shrink, or replace the harness section.

   Remove faulty sensor

   If the sensor itself failed the resistance test, remove the mounting screws/clips holding the faulty cab temperature sensor in place.

   Disconnect electrical connector

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the old sensor.

   Install new sensor

   Plug the connector into the new OEM cab temperature sensor and mount it back into its original location.

   Clear fault code

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and clear the stored 10.03.06 fault code from the AIRCON module.

   Test HVAC system

   Test the HVAC system to ensure the AC and heater blend properly based on the cabin temperature.
