Massey Ferguson 10.03.11 – AIRCON: Sunlight Sensor Signal Incorrect
Issue description
The climate control system relies on a solar/sunlight sensor to measure the intensity of the sun entering the cab. This fault code triggers when the signal voltage from the sunlight sensor falls outside the expected operating range (either shorted, open, or providing an erratic reading).

Check the cause
Locate the sunlight sensor (typically mounted on the dashboard/console near the windshield or on the cab roof) and check for physical damage or heavy debris/dirt covering the sensor dome.
Disconnect the sensor pigtail and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or bent terminals.
Check the wiring harness leading back to the AIRCON module for chafing, breaks, or a short to ground.
Clear the fault code via the onboard diagnostic screen or a diagnostic scan tool. If the code returns immediately upon key-on, it is a hard fault indicating a dead sensor or broken wire.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and remove the key. Disconnect the negative battery terminal if you are repairing wiring.
Access the Sensor
Locate the sunlight sensor in the cab. Depending on the exact model, you may need to gently pry up the trim panel surrounding the sensor using a plastic trim tool.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the base of the sensor.
Remove
Squeeze the retaining tabs on the sensor body (or remove the mounting screws, if applicable) and pull the sensor free from the mounting hole.
Install
Push the new OEM sunlight sensor into the mounting hole until it clicks into place.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the locking tab engages.
Test
Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the tractor's diagnostic menu to clear the 10.03.11 fault code. Turn on the Auto Climate Control in direct sunlight to verify proper operation.
