Massey Ferguson 10.03.16 – AIRCON: Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Temperature Dial

The climate control system has detected an internal electrical fault, an out-of-range signal, or a communication error specifically originating from the temperature adjustment dial (potentiometer) on the cab's HVAC control panel.

   Inspect the temperature dial on the AC control panel for physical damage, binding, or excessive looseness that might indicate a broken internal potentiometer shaft.

   Remove the trim surrounding the AC panel and inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the back of the module for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wires.

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) and monitor live data from the temperature dial. Slowly turn the dial from full cold to full hot to check if the signal voltage drops out, spikes erratically, or shows no change.

   Verify that the AC control module is receiving proper operating voltage and has a clean ground connection, as voltage irregularities can trigger false internal module faults.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Remove Trim

   Carefully pry off or unscrew the interior cab trim/bezel surrounding the HVAC control panel (located either in the dashboard or the headliner console, depending on the tractor model).

   Extract the Module

   Remove the retaining screws holding the Air Conditioning Panel Module in place.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Pull the module out slightly and disconnect the multi-pin electrical connectors from the rear of the unit.

   Install New Panel

   Connect the wiring harnesses to the new AC control panel.

   Reassembly

   Mount the new panel, secure it with the retaining screws, and snap the cab trim back into place.

   Reconnect Power

   Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Connect the AGCO EDT, clear the 10.03.16 fault code, and test the HVAC system. Ensure the temperature dial regulates the cab temperature correctly and that the fault code does not return.
