10.03.17

Massey Ferguson 10.03.17 – AIRCON: Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Fan Speed Dial (AIRCON)

Issue description

The climate control system has detected an internal electrical or logic fault specifically related to the fan speed dial (blower switch/potentiometer). The module is receiving an out-of-range, erratic, or missing signal from the dial, which prevents the system from accurately determining the requested blower motor speed.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the Code: Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or the tractor's dashboard display to confirm code 10.03.17 is active.

  2. Physical Inspection: Inspect the fan speed dial on the climate control panel. Check for physical looseness, binding, or a broken knob shaft.

  3. Wiring and Voltage Check: Before condemning the panel, remove the trim and check the wiring harness connected to the rear of the AIRCON module. Look for loose pins, corrosion, or melted wires. Verify that the module is receiving proper operating voltage and ground.

  4. Potentiometer/Switch Test: If you have a multimeter, test the resistance sweep of the fan speed dial (if accessible). Dead spots or infinite resistance indicate a failed internal potentiometer.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts while working on the cab dashboard/headliner.

  2. Remove Trim

Carefully pry off or unscrew the plastic bezel/trim surrounding the Air Conditioning Control Panel in the cab.

  3. Extract the Module

Remove the retaining screws holding the AIRCON module in place.

  4. Disconnect Harnesses

Gently pull the panel forward and unplug the multi-pin electrical connectors from the back of the unit.

  5. Install New Panel

Connect the wiring harnesses to the new or refurbished climate control panel.

  6. Reassembly

Seat the panel back into the console/headliner, secure it with the retaining screws, and snap the trim bezel back into place.

  7. Test and Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and test the fan speed dial through all speed settings. Use the AGCO EDT or dashboard interface to clear the inactive 10.03.17 fault code.
