Massey Ferguson 10.03.18 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Fault (AIRCON)
Issue description
This code indicates an issue with the ambient temperature sensor's integrated fan. The system logs this fault when the "fan does not turn" or the sensor's signal falls outside of its normal operating range.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the ambient temperature sensor fan to see if it is physically obstructed by dust or debris, preventing it from turning.
Use a multi-meter to check the wiring harness and ensure the proper voltage is reaching the sensor.
Inspect the machine's wiring harness for any damage, breaks, or a short circuit to the earth.
Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to verify if the signal from the sensor is reading outside its operating limits or giving an impossible value.
Repair steps
Locate the Sensor
Locate the cab temperature sensor. Depending on the specific Massey Ferguson model, the inside cab temperature sensor is typically mounted in the top right side of the fuse panel, while the outside/ambient temperature sensor is often fastened behind the light closest to the center of the cab roof.
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery isolator to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Inspect Connectors
Disconnect the sensor (check connectors such as X838 for the external air temperature sensor) and inspect the pins for corrosion or bent terminals.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the sensor's fan still does not turn or the sensor fails a resistance test, remove the faulty sensor assembly and install the replacement part.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the wiring harness and battery. Turn the ignition on and use the AGCO EDT to clear the 10.03.18 fault code from the AIRCON module. Test the HVAC system to ensure the automatic temperature control functions correctly.
