Massey Ferguson 10.03.20 – Air Conditioning Module (AIRCON / AC Module): Issue With Air Circulation Flap Motors (AIRCON)

A malfunction in the actuator motor responsible for moving the HVAC flaps (often the recirculation or blend doors) that direct airflow within the tractor's cab. The system has detected an electrical fault, a jammed flap, or a failure of the motor to reach its commanded position.

   Inspect the air circulation flaps for physical obstructions, dirt, debris, or a broken plastic linkage that can jam the flap.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the AIRCON module to the flap motor for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion in the connector.

   Use a multimeter to verify that the AIRCON module is sending the correct voltage signal to the motor when the cabin controls are adjusted, and test the motor's internal resistance.

   Clear the fault codes to see if the issue is a hard fault (returns immediately) or an intermittent communication glitch on the CAN BUS.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts while working on the AIRCON system.

   Access the HVAC Unit

   Remove the necessary cab interior panels (often the roof/headliner panels or the side console, depending on where the main HVAC distribution box is housed in your specific model) to gain access to the air distribution box.

   Locate the Flap Motor

   Identify the specific air circulation flap motor (actuator) mounted on the outside of the HVAC housing.

   Disconnect and Remove

   Unplug the electrical connector from the motor. Remove the mounting screws (usually 2 or 3 small Torx or Phillips screws) securing the motor to the housing.

   Install the New Motor

   Align the spline or linkage of the new flap motor with the door mechanism. Do not force it; the flap may need to be manually rotated slightly to align with the new motor's default position.

   Secure and Reassemble

   Tighten the mounting screws and plug the electrical connector back in. Reinstall all cab interior panels.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and clear the 10.03.20 fault code. Cycle the air circulation controls on the AC panel to ensure the new motor operates smoothly without logging a new code.
