Massey Ferguson 10.X.05 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Open Circuit

The climate control system has detected a break in the electrical circuit for the interior cab temperature sensor, which typically means a disconnected plug, a broken wire in the harness, or a sensor that has failed internally.

   Locate the inside cab temperature sensor (commonly mounted in the top right side of the fuse panel, near the roof/headliner, or integrated near the HVAC controls).

   Visually inspect the sensor's electrical connector to ensure it is securely plugged in and that pins are not corroded or bent.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading from the sensor to the AIRCON module for chafing, cuts, or pinch points.

   Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to measure its resistance (Ohms). If it reads 'OL' (Open Loop), the sensor has failed internally. If it shows a valid resistance, the fault is likely a broken wire in the harness.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor/combine ignition and remove the key.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove any interior trim panels or fuse box covers required to access the cab temperature sensor.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the faulty sensor.

   Remove

   Unclip or unscrew the sensor from its mounting bracket.

   Install

   Snap or screw the new OEM cab temperature sensor into place.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks securely.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall any interior cab trim panels or covers.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the ignition on. Use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest AGV or the dealer EDT tool) to clear the 10.X.05 fault code from the AIRCON module.

   Verify

   Run the machine and test the automatic climate control to ensure the AC and heater regulate the cab temperature properly.
