Massey Ferguson 10.X.16 – Air Conditioning Panel Module (AIRCON): Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Temperature Dial
Issue description
The climate control system has detected an internal electrical or mechanical fault with the temperature adjustment dial (potentiometer), such as an open circuit, a short circuit, or an erratic resistance reading that prevents the system from determining the requested cab temperature.

Check the cause
Inspect the temperature dial on the AC control panel for physical damage, sticking, or excessive play.
Turn the temperature dial fully from cold to hot several times to clean minor oxidation off the internal potentiometer contacts.
Remove the cab console trim to access the back of the AC panel and inspect the wiring harness and connectors (e.g., yellow and blue connectors) for loose pins, corrosion, or damage.
Check the resistance sweep of the temperature dial potentiometer using a multimeter to identify dead spots.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Panel
Carefully pry off or unscrew the cab console trim/bezel surrounding the Air Conditioning control panel.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connectors from the rear of the AC control panel module.
Remove Module
Unscrew the mounting fasteners and remove the AC control panel module from the console.
Component Replacement
Option A (Component Level): If you have electronics repair experience and the potentiometer is available separately, desolder the faulty temperature dial potentiometer from the internal circuit board and solder in the replacement. Option B (Module Level): If the board is sealed or the potentiometer cannot be sourced, replace the entire Air Conditioning Control Panel Module.
Reinstall
Fit the new or repaired AC panel into the console and secure it with its fasteners.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connectors back into the module.
Reassemble
Snap or screw the console trim/bezel back into place.
Test
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and verify that the temperature dial adjusts the climate control properly without triggering the 10.00.16 fault code.
