Massey Ferguson 10.X.17 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning Panel Module): Air Conditioning Panel Module Internal Issue With Fan Speed Dial (AIRCON)

The Air Conditioning control unit has detected an internal electrical fault, out-of-range signal, or open/short circuit specifically related to the fan speed dial (potentiometer). Because the module cannot accurately read the dial's position, it cannot properly regulate the HVAC blower motor speed.

   Check the fan speed dial on the AC control panel for physical damage, binding, or excessive looseness. A broken internal plastic stem can cause erratic readings.

   Remove the trim surrounding the AC panel and inspect the wiring harness connectors at the back of the module. Look for backed-out pins, corrosion, or loose connections that could interrupt the signal.

   Use a multimeter to ensure the AC control panel is receiving proper operating voltage and has a solid ground.

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT). Navigate to the AIRCON module and monitor the live data for the fan speed dial. Slowly turn the dial and watch for erratic jumps or dropouts in the signal value. If the signal drops out internally, the panel must be replaced.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove Cab Trim

   Carefully pry off or unscrew the interior cab trim bezels surrounding the HVAC control unit on the right-hand console or B-pillar (depending on the tractor model).

   Extract the Module

   Remove the retaining screws holding the AC control panel in place.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Pull the panel forward and disconnect the multi-pin electrical harness connectors from the rear of the unit.

   Install New Panel

   Connect the wiring harnesses to the new OEM AC control panel.

   Reassembly

   Secure the new panel with the retaining screws and snap/screw the cab trim bezels back into place.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Connect the AGCO EDT to clear the 10.00.17 fault code. Turn on the tractor and test the fan speed dial through all speed settings to verify proper operation.
