Massey Ferguson 10.X.19 – Air Conditioning Module (AIRCON): Issue With The Heater Valve (AIRCON)

This code indicates an electrical fault—such as an open circuit, short to ground, or implausible signal—in the circuit controlling the electronic heater shuttle valve. When this code is active, the climate control system cannot properly regulate the flow of hot engine coolant into the cab's heater core, resulting in a lack of heat or an inability to cool the cab if the valve is stuck open.

   Check the manual coolant flow valve on the engine block. Ensure this valve is open if you are diagnosing a 'no heat' symptom alongside the code, as operators often shut it in the summer.

   Check the AIRCON module voltage, as low voltage can trigger erroneous valve codes.

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts. Allow the engine and coolant to cool completely.

   Locate the electronic heater shuttle valve, typically found inline with the heater hoses routing from the engine block to the cab firewall.

   Isolate the coolant

   Use hose pinch-off pliers on the coolant lines on both sides of the heater valve to minimize coolant loss.

   Remove the old valve

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the valve. Loosen the hose clamps and pull the coolant hoses off the valve fittings.

   Install the new valve

   Install the new heater valve, ensuring the directional flow arrow (if present) points toward the cab heater core.

   Push the hoses onto the new valve and secure them with the hose clamps. Reconnect the electrical connector.
