Massey Ferguson 10.X.27 – AIRCON (Air Conditioning Module): Issue With Signal To Left Cab Fan Speed Controller (AIRCON)
Issue description
The signal from the fan speed controller (potentiometer/resistor) is outside of its normal operating range. This typically points to a short circuit, an open circuit, or a failed blower motor resistor on the left side of the cab's HVAC system.

Check the cause
Scan for accompanying codes (10.X.28, 10.X.29, 10.X.30, 10.X.32) which could indicate a broader HVAC module or harness issue
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the left cab fan speed controller for chafing, pinched wires, or melted connectors
Use a multimeter to verify the voltage signal coming from the fan speed potentiometer
Test the left blower motor to ensure it is not seizing or pulling excessive amperage, which can prematurely burn out the fan speed controller/resistor
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the HVAC Unit
Remove the cab roof panel or interior headliner/trim panels required to access the left-side HVAC blower assembly.
Remove the Controller
Locate the left cab fan speed controller (blower motor resistor) mounted near or inside the blower motor housing (it requires airflow to cool its components). Disconnect the electrical pigtail.
Replace the Component
Remove the mounting screws, extract the faulty resistor, and install the new OEM replacement part.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the wiring harness, restore battery power, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 10.X.27 fault code. Test the fan through all speed settings to ensure proper operation before reinstalling the cab panels.
