Massey Ferguson 102.11 – Engine ECU (AGCO SISU POWER EEM4 or EEM3): Intake Boost Pressure Sensor Signal Too High (ECU)

Issue description

The engine controller has detected that the signal voltage from the intake manifold boost pressure sensor is above the normal operating range, or the boost pressure deviation is implausibly high. This is typically caused by a short circuit to a high voltage source in the sensor wiring, a failed sensor, or an actual overboost condition.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the intake boost pressure sensor for chafing, corrosion, or melted wires

  2. Test the sensor circuit for a shorted to high source condition by verifying the reference voltage and ground at the sensor connector

  3. Perform a plausibility check with the key ON and the engine OFF using a diagnostic tool (WinEEM or AGCO EDT) to read the live boost pressure value, which should match atmospheric pressure

  4. Verify ECU integrity if a wiring fault is ruled out and the fault remains active even with a replacement sensor, as the original ECU hardware may be defective

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Battery

    Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery terminal to protect the Engine ECU.

  2. Locate the Sensor

    Locate the Intake Boost Pressure Sensor on the intake manifold of the Sisu engine.

  3. Repair Wiring

    If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to power in the harness, repair the damaged section of the wiring loom and replace the connector pigtail if necessary.

  4. Replace the Sensor

    If the wiring is intact, disconnect the sensor plug. Unbolt/unscrew the faulty boost pressure sensor from the intake manifold. Install the new OEM sensor and torque to manufacturer specifications. Reconnect the wiring harness.

  5. Clear Codes

    Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use a diagnostic service tool to clear the 000102.11 / SPN 102 FMI 11 inactive fault code.

  6. Test Run

    Start the engine and verify that the code does not return and that engine performance (power levels) is restored.
