Issue description

The controller is receiving a fluctuating, noisy, or illogical voltage reading from the sensor that measures the air pressure inside the intake manifold, indicating a potential sensor failure, wiring issue, or actual erratic boost pressure.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the boost pressure sensor for chafing, breaks, or melting (checking for short circuits to a high source, short circuits to ground, or open circuits).

  2. Disconnect the 4-pin sensor connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or poor terminal tension.

  3. Verify the ECU is supplying the correct reference voltage (typically 5V) to the sensor.

  4. Inspect the intake manifold and turbocharger plumbing for physical leaks or blockages that could cause actual erratic pressure drops during operation.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and allow the engine to cool.

    Ensure the machine is safely shut down before beginning work.

  2. Locate the Intake Boost Pressure Sensor (MAP sensor) on the engine's intake manifold.

    Identify the sensor location for removal.

  3. Depress the locking tab and disconnect the 4-pin electrical connector from the sensor.

    Carefully remove the electrical connection without damaging the pins or harness.

  4. Remove the retaining fastener(s) holding the sensor to the intake manifold.

    Unbolt the sensor from its mounting position.

  5. Pull the old sensor straight out.

    Remove the faulty sensor from the manifold.

  6. Clean the mounting port on the intake manifold, ensuring no debris falls into the engine.

    Prepare the surface for the new sensor to ensure a proper seal.

  7. Lubricate the O-ring on the new OEM sensor slightly and press it firmly into the manifold port.

    Install the new sensor carefully to avoid damaging the O-ring.

  8. Install and tighten the retaining fastener.

    Secure the new sensor to the intake manifold.

  9. Reconnect the 4-pin electrical connector until it clicks into place.

    Restore the electrical connection to the sensor.

  10. Turn on the ignition and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 00102.14 fault code from the Engine ECU. Start the engine and verify that the code does not return.

    Clear the fault code and test the machine to confirm the repair was successful.
