Check the cause
Perform a visual and mechanical inspection of the intake manifold and charge-air cooler piping for leaks, loose clamps, or cracks that could cause a genuine low boost condition
Ensure the air filter is not severely restricted
Inspect the boost pressure sensor wiring harness, connector, and contact pins for oxidation, moisture, or backed-out terminals
Test the sensor's operation using a multimeter, verifying the 5.0V supply voltage
If wiring and sensor test fine, test the system with a known-good EEM controller to rule out a defective ECU
Repair steps
System Reset
Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 60 seconds to allow the ECU to power down completely.
Access the Sensor
Locate the Intake Boost Pressure Sensor (MAP sensor) on the engine's intake manifold.
Clean/Repair Wiring
If oxidation or damage was found during diagnostics, clean the connector pins with electrical contact cleaner or repair the damaged harness section.
Replace the Sensor
If the sensor is deemed faulty, disconnect the electrical harness, unbolt/unscrew the old sensor, and install the new OEM replacement.
Clear Codes
Turn the ignition back on. Use a diagnostic service tool to clear the stored fault codes, or run the engine to see if the ECU moves the code from "Active" to "Inactive" after detecting the proper pressure reference.
