Massey Ferguson E1043.03 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): High Voltage Detected In The Engine Module. (ECU)

Issue description

The internal voltage measured by the engine controller has exceeded the normal operating threshold.

Test the tractor's battery and alternator output with a multimeter to ensure the alternator voltage regulator has not failed and is not sending excessive voltage to the ECU.
Check the Engine ECU power supply and ground connections for corrosion or loose terminals.
Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or WinEEM4 Service Tool via the CAN bus to read live data and monitor the ECU's internal voltage reading.
Cross-test the ECU operation with a known-good EEM4 controller to verify if the original ECU has suffered an internal hardware failure.

Disconnect power
Open the vehicle main switch or disconnect the battery terminals before connecting or disconnecting the ECU vehicle connector (the large 94-pin or 96-pin connector) to prevent sparking that may damage the connector pins.
Remove the Old ECU
Unbolt the defective EEM4 controller from its mounting bracket.
Install the New ECU
Mount the new EEM4 unit and carefully reconnect the 94/96-pin harness.
Perform Software Configuration
Use the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool). Open 'Configuration', select 'Engine ECU Replacement', and push the start button.
Activate the ECU
You must use a new EEM4 spare part from AGCO. Flash the correct software to the controller and activate the ECU with an activation code requested from AGCO SISU POWER to avoid an engine specification mismatch (SPN 520230, FMI 31).
