Check the cause

  1. Inspect the MPROP solenoid valve connector on the high-pressure fuel pump for damage, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

  2. Test the solenoid valve wiring harness back to the ECU to check for a short circuit to battery voltage (high source).

  3. Test the solenoid by temporarily plugging in another known-good MPROP solenoid valve to see if the fault clears, which indicates an internal short.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off engine and disconnect battery

Turn off the engine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical and fuel systems.

  2. Locate MPROP valve

Locate the MPROP (Fuel Pressure Control Valve) mounted on the Bosch high-pressure fuel injection pump.

  3. Clean area

Thoroughly clean the area around the valve to prevent dirt from entering the high-pressure fuel system.

  4. Disconnect electrical connector

Disconnect the electrical connector from the MPROP solenoid.

  5. Remove fasteners

Remove the mounting fasteners securing the valve to the pump body.

  6. Remove valve

Carefully pull the valve out of the pump.

  7. Lubricate O-rings

Lubricate the O-rings on the new MPROP valve with clean diesel fuel or engine oil to prevent tearing during installation.

  8. Install new valve

Insert the new valve into the pump and torque the mounting fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.

  9. Reconnect components

Reconnect the electrical connector and the battery.

  10. Test and clear codes

Turn the key to the ON position to allow the lift pump to prime the system. Start the engine, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic scan tool, and verify that 001076.03 does not return.
