Massey Ferguson 1076.05 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EEM4: Voltage Issue On Fuel Solenoid On High Pressure Pump

The engine controller has detected an open circuit or a high-resistance fault in the wiring or the internal coil of the Fuel Control Valve (MPROP valve) located on the high-pressure fuel injection pump. When this code is active, the engine will typically fail to start or will not run.

   Carry out a preliminary visual inspection of the ECU unit connector, the high-pressure fuel pump connector, and any intermediate harness connectors

   Look for dirty, corroded, worn, or backed-out pins/terminals at the MPROP valve connector

   Check the actuator wires running from the ECU to the fuel control valve for an open circuit, chafing, or a short to a high-voltage source

   Measure the resistance across the pins of the MPROP solenoid itself (infinite resistance/open loop indicates the internal coil has failed)

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to protect the ECU from voltage spikes during repair.

   Access the Pump

   Locate the high-pressure fuel injection pump on the engine block. The MPROP valve is the cylindrical solenoid bolted to the pump body.

   Harness Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or corroded connector, repair the wiring harness or replace the pigtail connector. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner.

   Valve Replacement

   If the wiring is intact but the valve has an open circuit: Unplug the electrical connector from the MPROP valve. Remove the mounting fasteners (usually Torx or Allen bolts) securing the valve to the pump. Carefully extract the valve. Lubricate the O-rings on the new MPROP valve with clean diesel fuel. Insert the new valve into the pump and torque the fasteners to OEM specifications.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the key to the ON position, connect a diagnostic tool, and clear the 001076.05 / SPN 1076 fault code. Prime the fuel system if necessary before cranking the engine.
