Massey Ferguson 13.00.0B – TRANS1: Hydraulic Trailer Brake Solenoid Issue Dyna VT (TRANS1)

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the TRANS1 module to the hydraulic trailer brake valve block for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose pins in the connector

   Disconnect the solenoid and use a multimeter to check the resistance (Ohms) across the solenoid pins to identify an open circuit or dead short

   With the key ON, probe the harness connector to ensure the TRANS1 module is sending the correct reference voltage to the solenoid

   Verify that the brake pedal magnetic sensor/switch is functioning correctly and not physically damaged or misaligned

   Ensure the tractor's base hydraulic system is generating adequate pressure and that the trailer brake valve is not mechanically stuck

   Depressurize the System

   Turn off the tractor, engage the park brake, and actuate the brake pedals a few times to relieve residual hydraulic pressure. Disconnect the battery.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the hydraulic trailer brake valve block at the rear of the tractor.

   Disconnect Lines and Wiring

   Disconnect the electrical connector to the trailer brake solenoid. Disconnect and cap the pilot housing hose, the supply hose of the auxiliary spool valve, and the tube of the trailer brake connector to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

   Remove the Solenoid/Valve

   Remove the retaining screws/bolts holding the solenoid or the entire trailer brake valve assembly to the hydraulic cover.

   Clean and Prep

   Thoroughly clean the joint faces of the hydraulic cover and the valve block.

   Install New Parts

   Fit the new solenoid (or complete valve block/seals). Reinstall the retaining screws and torque to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect all hydraulic lines and the electrical harness.

   Bleed the Brakes

   Refill the hydraulic/brake fluid reservoir if necessary. Bleed the brake system, starting at the wheel/actuator furthest from the master cylinder and working your way closer.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key ON, and use the Massey Ferguson Wintest diagnostic software (or the in-cab dash sequence) to clear the 13.00.0B fault code. Test the trailer brakes for proper operation.
