Check the cause

  1. Wiring & Connector Inspection: Check the wiring harness leading to the brake pressure sensor for chafing, corrosion, or a short-to-voltage, which can cause the sensor to report an artificially high reading.

  2. Sensor Testing: Use a multimeter to verify the reference voltage and signal output at the sensor connector.

  3. Mechanical Pressure Test: Connect a mechanical hydraulic pressure gauge to the brake circuit test port and compare the actual physical pressure against the sensor's electronic reading to determine if the sensor is faulty or if there is a true hydraulic overpressure issue.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve hydraulic pressure

    Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the park lock, turn off the engine, and relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the brake system by pumping the brake pedals.

  2. Locate sensor

    Locate the brake pressure sensor (often designated as the handbrake or trailer brake pressure sensor) on the transmission hydraulic valve block.

  3. Disconnect wiring

    Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the sensor.

  4. Remove faulty sensor

    Unscrew the faulty pressure sensor from the hydraulic port. Have a rag ready to catch any minor hydraulic fluid drips.

  5. Install new sensor

    Install the new OEM pressure sensor and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification.

  6. Reconnect wiring

    Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

  7. Test and clear code

    Start the tractor, test the brake and handbrake operation, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 13.00.19 fault code from the TRANS1 module.
