Massey Ferguson 13.00.41 – HITCH: Park Brake Released Solenoid High Amp Draw Dyna 6 (HITCH)
Issue description
The controller has detected that the electrical current (amperage) being drawn by the "Park Brake Released" solenoid is exceeding the maximum specified threshold. This typically indicates a short circuit within the solenoid coil itself (internal failure) or a short to ground in the wiring harness supplying power to the solenoid.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the park brake valve block on the transmission for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinch points that could cause a short to ground.
Disconnect the plug at the Park Brake Released Solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or melted/corroded pins which can bridge the connection.
Perform a coil resistance test using a multimeter across the pins of the solenoid coil. A reading near 0 Ohms (or significantly lower than the OEM spec of 7-12 Ohms) confirms the coil is internally shorted.
Perform a harness short test with the solenoid disconnected and the tractor off. Measure the resistance between the power supply wire in the harness and the tractor chassis (ground). Continuity indicates the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Chock the wheels securely, as you will be working on the park brake system. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Locate the Valve Block
Locate the brake/park lock hydraulic valve block on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission housing.
Remove the Faulty Solenoid
Disconnect the electrical connector from the "Park Brake Released" solenoid. Remove the retaining nut or cap at the end of the solenoid stem.
Slide off the Coil
Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge itself just to replace the coil, preventing fluid loss).
Install the New Solenoid
Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem. Secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic casing).
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the electrical harness. Reconnect the battery. Start the tractor, clear the inactive 13.00.41 fault code via the dash/terminal, and cycle the park brake to ensure proper engagement and release without throwing a new code.
