Massey Ferguson 13.00.43 – HITCH: Park Brake Activated Solenoid High Amp Draw Dyna 6 (HITCH)

The control module has detected an abnormally high electrical current (amperage) being drawn by the solenoid responsible for activating the park brake on the Dyna 6 transmission, typically pointing to an electrical short circuit.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission's brake block solenoid for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or melted areas shorting to the chassis or ground

   Disconnect the plug at the park brake solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or melted pins causing high resistance or bridging

   Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the pins of the park brake solenoid. A reading of zero or near-zero ohms confirms an internal short

   With the solenoid disconnected, check for continuity between the power supply wire in the harness and a known good ground to identify a shorted harness

   Secure the Tractor

   Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Crucially, chock the wheels securely. You will be disabling the park brake system during this repair, and the tractor could roll.

   Locate the Solenoid

   Locate the brake block/transmission valve block on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission where the range and park brake solenoids are housed.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the brake block solenoid with brake cleaner to prevent any dirt or debris from entering the transmission's hydraulic circuit.

   Remove the Faulty Solenoid

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the solenoid. Unbolt the retaining nut/screws holding the solenoid coil or cartridge in place and carefully extract it from the block.

   Install the New Part

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean hydraulic/transmission fluid. Insert the new solenoid into the brake block and tighten to the OEM torque specification.

   Reconnect and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Turn on the tractor, clear the inactive 13.00.43 fault code via the diagnostic screen or OBD tool, and test the ParkLock system by engaging and disengaging the park brake several times.
