   Check the battery voltage using a multimeter (a fully charged battery should read around 12.6V) and ensure the alternator and voltage regulator are functioning properly.

   Inspect the transmission/hitch control fuses and replace any that are blown.

   Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors involved in the Park Brake Solenoid circuit for clean, secure connections free of corrosion or physical damage.

   Perform an open or short-circuit test at each harness connection using a multimeter to identify if the wiring harness is shorted to ground or has an open circuit.

   Turn off power

   Turn the ignition switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position before beginning any electrical work.

   Locate solenoid

   Locate the Park Brake Activated Solenoid on the transmission block (often accessed through a side panel or under the cab, depending on the specific model's back end).

   Test solenoid resistance

   Disconnect the electrical connector to the solenoid and test the solenoid's internal resistance.

   Evaluate solenoid

   If the wiring harness tests fine (no shorts or opens) but the solenoid fails the resistance test or is receiving proper voltage but not actuating, the solenoid itself is faulty.

   Remove faulty solenoid

   Remove the retaining hardware for the faulty solenoid and extract it from the brake block.

   Install new solenoid
