Check the cause

  1. Check system voltage to ensure the tractor's battery and alternator are functioning correctly, as low system voltage can trigger false solenoid codes.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the park brake release solenoid on the transmission brake block for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or wire chafing.

  3. Test the resistance (Ohms) of the park brake release solenoid coil to determine if it is internally shorted or open.

  4. Check the wiring harness for continuity between the solenoid connector and the HITCH controller.

  5. Check for a short to ground or short to power on the signal wire.

Repair steps

  1. Secure the Machine

Park the tractor on a flat, level surface and chock the wheels securely to prevent the tractor from rolling.

  2. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  3. Locate the Solenoid

Locate the brake block valve assembly on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission and identify the specific park brake release solenoid.

  4. Remove the Faulty Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical plug from the solenoid. Remove the retaining nut or clip holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem, and slide the old coil off.

  5. Install the New Part

Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip.

  6. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and seats firmly. Reconnect the battery.

  7. Test and Clear Codes

Start the tractor and test the engagement and release of the parking brake. Use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's dashboard interface to clear the 13.00.46 inactive fault code.
