   Visually inspect the physical condition of the park brake switch (located near the reverser/shuttle lever or on the side of the transmission housing) to ensure it is not physically stuck, packed with dirt, or mechanically damaged.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the switch for chafed wires, broken connections, or corrosion in the connector plug that could cause an open circuit.

   Disconnect the switch and test it with a multimeter for continuity. The switch is a 'Normally Closed' type and should show continuity when the brake is disengaged and open when applied. If it reads open in both states, the switch has failed internally.

   Verify that the range change solenoids and their linked switches on the side of the transmission are receiving proper voltage, as failures here can trigger related transmission/brake faults on Dyna-6 transmissions.

   Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Turn the engine OFF, remove the key, and securely chock all wheels to prevent rolling, as you will be working on the parking brake system.

   Relieve Pressure

   If your diagnosis requires disconnecting any adjacent hydraulic lines, ensure all hydraulic pressure is relieved first.

   Access the Switch

   Locate the park brake switch. Depending on the exact cab configuration, this will be near the shuttle lever linkage or directly mounted on the transmission housing.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the switch. Unthread or unbolt the faulty switch from its mounting bracket.

   Install the new park brake switch. Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place.
