Massey Ferguson 13.01.04 – TRANS1: Air Brake Park Brake Solenoid Issue Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
An electrical or operational malfunction in the solenoid that controls the air-actuated parking brake, usually pointing to an open circuit, a short circuit, or an abnormal amperage draw preventing the solenoid from properly engaging or releasing the park brake.

Check the cause
Check the wiring harness leading to the Air Brake Park Brake Solenoid for chafing, breaks, or melted insulation, and inspect the connector pins for corrosion or moisture ingress.
Use a multimeter to check the voltage reaching the solenoid and measure the solenoid's internal resistance.
Verify that the brake system pressure drops when the brake is applied and that the system pressure isn't running too high.
Check the park lock proximity switch on the axle and the handbrake pressure sensor to ensure they are sending the correct state (open/closed) to the TRANS1 module.
Repair steps
Preparation
Safely park the tractor on level ground, chock the wheels (since you will be working on the parking brake system), and turn off the engine. Disconnect the battery to protect the TRANS1 module.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the air brake valve block/transmission control block where the park brake solenoid is mounted.
Removal
Disconnect the electrical weather-pack connector from the faulty solenoid. Clean the area around the solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic/air system. Unbolt or unscrew the solenoid cartridge from the valve block.
Installation
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean system fluid. Thread the new solenoid into the valve block and torque it to the manufacturer's specification.
Reconnection
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place. Reconnect the battery.
Clearing Codes & Testing
Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor, clear the 13.01.04 fault code from the TRANS1 module, and cycle the parking brake several times to ensure the code does not return and the brake holds and releases properly.
