Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Air Brake Park Brake Solenoid for chafing, breaks, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the solenoid and check the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a dead short indicates a failed solenoid coil.
Check the continuity of the wiring from the solenoid connector back to the TRANS1 module to rule out a broken wire in the harness.
Turn the key to the ON position and actuate the park brake switch to verify that the TRANS1 module is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid.
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, remove the key, and physically chock the wheels (since the park brake system is being serviced).
Relieve Pressure
Bleed off any residual air and hydraulic pressure in the brake system to prevent injury or fluid/air release during removal.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the Air Brake Park Brake Solenoid on the transmission/brake valve block.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the solenoid.
Removal
Unbolt the retaining screws or retaining nut holding the solenoid coil/cartridge in place and carefully pull it out of the valve block.
Installation
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean hydraulic fluid. Insert the new solenoid into the valve block and torque the retaining fasteners to OEM specifications.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the solenoid.
Test
Start the tractor, allow the air system to build pressure, and test the engagement and disengagement of the park brake. Finally, clear the 13.01.06 fault code from the TRANS1 module using a diagnostic tool.
