Massey Ferguson 13.01.1A – TRANS1: Issue With Park Lock Proximity Switch On The Axle Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The transmission control system is detecting an abnormal signal, open circuit, or short circuit from the proximity switch responsible for monitoring whether the mechanical park lock on the axle is engaged or disengaged.

   Inspect the electrical plug and wiring harness under the tractor running to the sensor on the axle for loose connections or tension (common culprit).

   Check for cab suspension interference to verify that cab movement is not pulling or pinching the wiring harness routing to the transmission sensors.

   Test the proximity switch for physical damage and check the circuit for continuity to rule out a short to ground or an open circuit in the main harness.

   Locate the Switch

   The park lock proximity switch is located on the rear axle/transmission housing, directly underneath the cab. Note: Access can be highly restricted. Depending on the model, you may need to remove hydraulic lines or utilize the cab hydraulics to raise the cab for adequate clearance.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Always disconnect the battery before servicing transmission electronics.

   Disconnect the Sensor

   Unplug the electrical connector from the proximity switch. Clean the connector with contact cleaner and inspect the pins for corrosion.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Unscrew the proximity switch from the axle housing.

   Install the New Switch

   Thread the new proximity switch into the axle housing and tighten to the manufacturer's torque specification.

   Reconnect and Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Lower the cab and reattach any hydraulic lines that were removed for access.

   Calibrate and Clear Codes

   Turn the battery back on. You may need to run a cab calibration (raising and lowering the cab fully) to ensure no wires are stretched. Clear the 13.01.1A fault code from the TRANS1 module and test the park brake engagement to verify the repair.
