Massey Ferguson 13.01.2F – TRANS1: Issue With Park Lock Proximity Switch On The Axle Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
The transmission control system is detecting an irregular signal, open circuit, or out-of-range voltage from the proximity switch responsible for monitoring whether the mechanical park lock on the rear axle is engaged or disengaged.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear axle where the park lock proximity switch is located for chafed wires, short circuits to earth, or damaged pins at the connector.
Verify the connections at the Autotronic 5 ParkLock controller harness, as communication issues here can trigger park lock faults.
Check the proximity switch operation using a pilot lamp or a multimeter to verify if the sensor successfully changes state (open/closed or voltage shift) when the park lock is physically engaged and disengaged via the cab controls.
Repair steps
Locate the Switch
Locate the park lock proximity switch on the rear axle housing.
Disconnect
Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the proximity switch.
Remove the Faulty Switch
Unthread or unbolt the proximity switch from the axle housing.
Install the New Switch
Thread the new proximity switch into the axle. If it is an adjustable proximity sensor, ensure it is set to the correct depth/clearance so it can accurately detect the park lock mechanism without being struck by moving internal components.
Reconnect and Clear
Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn on the tractor and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 13.01.2F fault code from the TRANS1 module. Test the park lock engagement to ensure the code does not return.
