Massey Ferguson 13.01.45 – HITCH: Park Brake Activated Solenoid Voltage Issue Dyna 6 (HITCH)
Issue description
The controller has detected an incorrect voltage reading (such as a short circuit, open circuit, or out-of-range voltage) on the electrical circuit responsible for the solenoid that activates the parking brake.

Check the cause
Test the battery and alternator voltage with a multimeter to rule out a weak battery or failing alternator causing erroneous voltage codes
Inspect the wiring harness running from the HITCH module to the transmission brake block for chafed wires, melted insulation, or breaks
Disconnect the plug at the park brake solenoid and check the terminals for dirt, moisture, or corrosion
Use a multimeter to test the resistance (Ohms) of the park brake activated solenoid coil to check for an internal short or open circuit
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Always disconnect the battery terminals (negative first) before working on the tractor's electrical system to prevent short circuits.
Clean Connections
If the wiring is intact but the connector is dirty, clean the terminals with a wire brush and electrical contact cleaner. Apply dielectric grease before reconnecting to ensure a solid connection and prevent future corrosion.
Locate Brake Block
If the solenoid fails the multimeter test, locate the brake block on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission.
Remove Solenoid
Remove the retaining nut or clip holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem.
Install New Solenoid
Slide the old solenoid off and install the new OEM solenoid or solenoid kit.
Reconnect Components
Reconnect the wiring harness and the battery.
Test and Verify
Clear the fault codes from the system and test the park brake engagement/disengagement to verify the repair.
