Massey Ferguson 13.01.46 – HITCH: Park Brake Released Solenoid Voltage Issue Dyna 6 (HITCH)

The control module is detecting an abnormal voltage condition (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) on the electrical circuit responsible for actuating the solenoid that releases the park brake.

   Verify the tractor's battery is fully charged (approx. 12.6V resting) and the alternator is charging properly, as low system voltage can trigger false solenoid codes.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the HITCH controller to the park brake release solenoid on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission valve block. Look for chafed wires, melted insulation, or corrosion inside the connector plug.

   Disconnect the solenoid and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. An 'OL' (open line) reading indicates a burnt-out internal coil.

   With the key on, probe the harness-side connector to verify if the HITCH controller is sending the proper command voltage signal when the park brake is commanded to release.

   Secure the Tractor

   Park on a flat, level surface. Because you are working on the park brake system, securely chock the wheels to prevent the tractor from rolling.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the transmission control valve block to prevent dirt or debris from entering the hydraulic system when the valve is removed.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Unplug the electrical connector. Unbolt and carefully remove the faulty park brake release electrovalve/solenoid from the transmission block.

   Install the New Solenoid

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean transmission fluid. Insert it into the valve block and tighten the mounting bolts to the OEM torque specification.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the weather seal is seated properly. Reconnect the battery.

7. 7

   Test and Clear Codes

   Start the tractor and test the park brake engagement and release. Clear the 13.01.46 fault code from the HITCH module using a diagnostic tool.
