Massey Ferguson 13.02.06 – TRANS1: Air Brake Park Brake Solenoid Issue

The electronic control system has detected a malfunction, open circuit, or short circuit in the solenoid responsible for actuating or releasing the air brake/park brake system on the transmission.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission valve block (typically located on the right side of the gearbox) for bared wires, rubbing, or damaged connectors.

   With the key switch in the ON position and the transmission control lever in neutral, disconnect the solenoid connector and measure the voltage. You should see approximately 12 volts. If voltage is missing, trace the wiring back to the transmission controller/relays for an open circuit.

   Measure the resistance on the ground cavity of the connector to ensure there is continuity to ground (typically less than 5 ohms).

   Ensure the park brake switch in the cab is functioning correctly and sending the proper signal to the TRANS1 module.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Solenoid

   Locate the park brake solenoid on the transmission valve block (bank of solenoids on the side of the transmission).

   Remove the Faulty Solenoid

   Disconnect the weather-pack electrical connector from the solenoid. Remove the retaining bolts or snap ring holding the solenoid in the valve block and pull the solenoid out.

   Install the New Solenoid

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean transmission fluid. Seat it into the valve block and secure the retaining hardware. Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Use a handheld diagnostic tool or the tractor's diagnostic interface panel to clear the stored 13.02.06 fault code.

   Transmission Calibration

   Warm up the tractor. Hold the range buttons until the right-hand dash screen displays "Ct". Place the PowerShuttle arm into the forward position to begin calibration. Wait approximately 10 minutes while the transmission shifts and calibrates. Once complete, place the shuttle in neutral, disengage the diff lock, idle down, and turn off the engine to save the settings.
